Mission accomplished, 85,000 moments of impact in our community, Volt Credit Union is not stopping; we are going to keep fanning the flame!
When you ask us what 85ksparks means to us, it meant we had the opportunity to help create awareness around mental health issues in our community. It meant we got to help someone build their new home. It meant we got to feed hungry teenagers in need. It meant that we got to help create a safe place for victims to tell their stories and provide services for their needs. We also got to help young new moms have diapers for their newborn babies. All of these things were amazing, and we were able to accomplish through our 85ksparks initiative.

One Spark Can Ignite A Flame!
The Child Advocacy Center
The Child Advocacy Center’s mission is twofold – serving the needs of abused and neglected children in Southwest and South Central Missouri, and providing education to break abuse cycles and ultimately prevent child abuse in our region. They are the largest child advocacy center in the state of Missouri, serving 16 counties in the southwest and south central regions of the state.
CAC is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance, and serves as a safe, caring place where abused children can begin their journeys toward justice, healing, and an end to their abuse. This national accreditation demonstrates their commitment to meeting and adhering to the highest standards of practice set for child advocacy centers in the United States.
Their professional staff members place the needs of the children first as they work with compassion and purpose, collaborating with law enforcement, the Children’s Division and other agencies to investigate and prosecute each individual case.
The CAC believes that child abuse is a community problem that requires a community response. Multiple organizations within southwest and south central Missouri work together to protect our region’s children from abuse and neglect.
The Child Advocacy Center’s role is to provide a safe place for children to tell their story, and to bring partner agencies together to facilitate a coordinated investigation and a comprehensive response to each child abuse case. Their facility serves as a central meeting place at the beginning of the investigation, where law enforcement officers, juvenile officers, prosecutors, medical personnel, Missouri Children’s Division caseworkers, therapists, and CAC staff can engage in a coordinated approach to manage each case with open communication, information sharing and collaborative decision making. They also work closely with other local and regional agencies to connect the children and families we serve with the community services they need to help them through their crisis.
