We are excited to announce that on Monday, June 1st we will be reopening our lobbies. We have made the decision to reopen in order to serve our members to the fullest. This decision was not made lightly, we have put a lot of thought into how we can best serve you while providing a safe atmosphere for you and our staff. That being said we will be handling things a little differently for the time being.
The biggest difference will be that we plan on shortening our hours in order to provide us with ample time to properly clean and sanitize all areas. For now our lobby hours will be 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, drive thru hours will not be affected. We will be sanitizing the lobbies throughout the day, and deep cleaning them in the mornings/evenings.
Due to restrictions laid out by the CDC and local governments we will be restricting the amount of people allowed in each branch at any given time. Members will not be allowed to wait in branch to meet with representatives for loans and account openings. Instead we will ask that you wait in your vehicle until a representative is available and we have had time to sanitize the room that you will be meeting in. To avoid this we recommend calling ahead and setting an appointment.
We will have a greeter at each location that will check you in. If you are wearing a mask the greeter will ask you to remove it for a few moments for security reasons, after which you will be allowed to put it back on. We will provide plenty of hand sanitizer to help keep you safe.
Some of the usual amenities that we provide will be put on hold during this time including coffee, restrooms, and water fountains. We will continue to monitor the climate of this situation and these amenities will once again be provided when we feel that it is safe to do so.
We want to urge you to continue to use our Online/Mobile banking platforms whenever possible. Doing so will ensure your safety and will also decrease the risk to our staff. Other banking options include ATM’s, drive ups, and Shared branches.
We are excited to reopen our doors to the community at this time, but in doing so we have to take every precaution that we can. Once again we recommend the use of our Online/Mobile banking platforms whenever possible, but our doors will officially be open on Monday if you need to stop by!
At Volt Credit Union we are closely following local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic safety responses and we want to continue to combat the spread of this deadly virus in the most effective way possible while still offering solutions to all of your banking needs!
Protecting the health of our employees and members is our greatest priority, so our lobbies will continue to be closed for basic teller transactions – possibly well into June. However, we will continue to make appointments for members who need to access safe deposit boxes or conduct more complex business such as opening accounts. When entering our building, you may be asked to present identification, wear a mask or remove one momentarily to allow for identification, or adhere to other protocols designed to protect you and our staff. Keep an eye on our website and social media pages for updates.
The following services are still available:
One way that we can help you financially is through our current refinance promotion. As a Not-For-Profit Financial Cooperative, we believe that it is important for us to pull together during this time. Social Distancing is important for all of our safety, but keeping our distance doesn’t mean that we cant help each other from afar. Businesses all over Springfield have had to change their normal operations in order to meet the needs of the community. We have compiled a list of how these businesses are able to serve you and how you can give back to those in need. During these uncertain times the Credit Union philosophy of “People Helping People” is more important than ever, so as a community let’s pull together and do our best to uphold it!

Due to increased fears over the Coronavirus Volt will be closing our lobbies, effective immediately. We understand that this may cause some inconvenience to our members but our top priority at this time is your Health and the health of our staff. By limiting the number of people entering the branches we can severely decrease the chance that the infection spreads in our community through our institution. if your financial need requires you to come into a branch please make an appointment by talking to a representative in one of our drive-ups, or over the phone at 417-862-0471.
For 24/7 access to your accounts, including check deposits, please use eAccess (online banking) and the Volt Mobile App (available for Apple and Android).
We understand that during this time our members may experience some financial difficulties, and we want to be able to help guide you through them. That is why we will currently be offering a free Skip a Pay on member loans for those of you who may need it. This Skip a Pay will be available to all members regardless of qualifications, so even if you skipped one of your loan payments in the last year or recently took out a loan, you will be eligible. This offer is tied to the COVID-19 outbreak, so it may be removed without notice to our membership, when the pandemic is over.
If you are experiencing other COVID-19 related financial difficulties please reach out to us and we will look at ways that we can help members on a case by case basis.
We are taking every possible measure to keep our members and staff safe during this outbreak including dividing staff equally between our two locations, regular cleaning schedules for ATM’s, drive-ups, and lobbies, and the use of gloves while handling money.
This pandemic is new to all of us and it presents challenges that we have never faced before. Please be patient with our staff as we navigate through this uncharted territory. In the meantime, we will be staying in constant contact with our membership through all available channels so please check our website, Facebook, and Instagram for updates.
