Bill Pay Update FAQs
What’s changing?
We’re upgrading to a more user-friendly Payment Services platform that will all be conveniently located within one navigation in Online Banking or the Mobile App. You’ll still be able to pay bills (via electronic payment or check)!
If I’m a current Bill Pay user, are there important dates I should mark on my calendar?
September 20, 2024 – eBills will be deactivated.
September 26, 2024 – This is the last day to access the current Bill Pay service and schedule new payments.
September 27-30, 2024 – The current Bill Pay system will be unavailable.
October 1, 2024 – The new Bill Pay system will go live!
Do I need to re-enroll if I already use Volt’s Bill Pay service?
No re-enrollment is needed! Simply log in, review, and accept the new terms and conditions, and follow the instructions and you’re all set. All your payees should transfer to the new system, if there were any issues with payees, the system will prompt you to verify accuracy. Be sure to log in on September 26, 2024, to verify your information is correct. You can log in anytime after September 26th, but we recommend verifying as soon as possible.
Will the current Bill Pay service be unavailable?
Yes, from September 27-30, 2024, the current Bill Pay will be offline. Payments scheduled through September 26 will be processed normally, and any future bills will be handled when the new system launches on October 1, 2024. Twelve months of payment history will also carry over to the new platform.
What if a payment is scheduled between 9/27-10/1?
These payments will be processed the evening of 10/1/24. Electronic payments will post 10/2/24 and check payments will be mailed 10/1/24.
What about eBills?
eBills are electronic versions of paper bills that arrive in your Bill Pay account just like a paper bill would arrive in your mailbox. When you signed up for an eBill you agreed to allow us to access the biller’s website on your behalf. For security reasons we are unable to transfer over this authorization to the new Bill Pay. Automatic payments for eBills will need to be enabled again and will take a billing cycle to go into effect. eBills will be deactivated September 20, 2024.
How much does Bill Pay cost?
Bill Pay is free for unlimited use! There are no enrollment or monthly fees. Optional services, like same-day delivery or stop payments, may have additional charges.
Will I need a separate login for Bill Pay?
No, Bill Pay is integrated within your online and mobile banking login—no extra steps needed!
How are funds taken from my account?
Payments are processed in two ways:
- Electronic Payments: Most payments are sent electronically, and funds are withdrawn on the payment’s send date. If funds aren’t available, the payment won’t go through, and you’ll need to reschedule.
- Check Payments: Some billers will receive a check drawn from your checking account. Funds are withdrawn when the check is cashed. If funds are insufficient when the check is processed, it may be returned.
