Once you’ve added your debit or credit card to a mobile payment platform, you can make purchases and check out or send money person-to-person with more convenience and security. What is a digital wallet?
A digital wallet is an electronic device or online service that lets you make electronic transactions without presenting a physical debit or credit card, typically using your mobile device but sometimes on a website.
How do I add my card to my digital wallet?
Apple Pay: To start open your Wallet > tap + to add card > Scan card > Enter CVV Code >Accept Terms and conditions.
Google Pay: To start open your Wallet > Tap Add Card > Scan Card > Enter CVV Code > Save and Continue > Accept Terms and Conditions > Verify card with OTP (one time pin) > Registration complete.
Samsung Pay: To start open your Samsung Pay > Sign In to Samsung Acct > Add payment card > Scan Card > Accept Terms and Conditions > Verify card with OTP (one time pin) > Registration complete.
How to use my digital wallet?
For in-store purchases, they generally use a contactless payment terminal by tapping their contactless credit card or a payment-enabled smartphone or smartwatch over the contactless payment terminal. You can use your wallet for online purchases anywhere you see your phone’s digital wallet logo. Or as a card on file transaction.
Can I add my Volt ATM card to my Digital Wallet?
Unfortunately, only our Volt Debit and Credit cards are compatible with digital wallets.
Can I add my student card to my digital wallet?
No. Unfortunately, each digital wallet has its own rules and possible age restrictions. Please go to your wallet’s websites for more details.
Can I opt out of a digital wallet?
Yes, you can remove your debit and credit cards and personal information at any time.
How do I know if a retailer or restaurant accepts digital payments?
Most major retailers and restaurants already accept digital wallets in-store, in-app and online. Some independent retailers have started accepting them as well.
Can more than one card be stored in my digital wallet?
Yes, most digital wallets allow you to store multiple debit and credit cards.
Are digital wallets secure?
Digital wallets are equipped with built-in enhanced security. Because your card information is encrypted, your account details stay secure, making it harder for a security breach to happen.
How do digital wallets store my card information?
Most digital wallets encrypt your account details to safeguard your information, which means the account number transmitted to the merchant when making a payment is not your actual account number. Digital wallets generate these encrypted account numbers for a single use, so each transaction will have a unique account number.
