Fall is finally here, and some of us have been counting down the days since the middle of summer. Now that cooler breezes are coming in, everyone is ready to start some of those fun fall activities. Volt CU has some fun fall activities that the whole family will enjoy.
Pumpkin Carving or Painting
Nothing says fall like pumpkins. We love to see them adorning the stoops of houses as the leaves begin to turn. A classic fall favorite is to carve a pumpkin, whether it be a Halloween face to celebrate the upcoming holiday or just a fun design. Pumpkin carving kits can be found at many local stores, and seeds can be saved and baked in the oven.
For something different, or for those younger kiddos who might not be interested in carving yet, painting a pumpkin can be just as fun! Decorate with handprints or your favorite colors.

Local Pumpkin Patch
Pumpkin patch visits are a childhood favorite of many and can make a great memory or family tradition. Support local farmers by visiting a pumpkin patch and letting the kids each pick out their pumpkin to bring home.
Go On an Outdoor Scavenger Hunt
This is a great way to get out and have fun while also making the season educational. This is especially fun once the leaves start to turn. Put together a scavenger hunt sheet of fall items to find, like different colors of leaves, acorns, pinecones, and animals. Spend time together finding all the things and discuss why the leaves change colors.
Find Local Festivals
Fall festivals are a favorite of those who enjoy the cooler weather. Look at your city’s website to find upcoming local festivals. Often there will be art festivals or art walks, music festivals, food celebrations, and maybe even a fair.
